Paris greeted me with miserable, rainy weather, and I genuinely had to ask myself whether or not I even minded -- it reminded me of something I once heard my brother say to his son:
"maxxis, you can whinge all you like, 'cos I still love you just as much when you're crying as I do when you're smiling, so there's no point crying!" --
it seemed to me that no matter which kind of weather Paris throws at me, I'm still gonna love her just as much when she's raining as I will when she's sunny
it was a relatively unadventurous trip for me, I was content enough to just walk around, trying my broken French on as many locals as possible, navigating my way around the metro system, and seeing just how many banana & nutella crepes that this one man is capable of eating (approximately 23,685 -- give or take a couple)
with a long stroll along l'Avenue des Champs-Élysées, a quick stop into the Louis Vuitton store, and a stroll through the local saturday morning produce markets the next morning, (and with a few warm croissants thrown in for good measure) I was a very content Australian in Paris!

stay tuned, next week: ROME!!!
let the good times roll!!
